First, I need to say that the people were nice and the place was clean, which were two reasons why my husband and I decided to have dinner here during our honeymoon. But any claims, formal or informal, of accolades for their food were insupportable. Maybe I'm used to better quality because I come from San Francisco, where Japanese food at the food court in a mall is significantly better than what I've tasted here. I ordered the eggplant that was enveloped in some sugary goop, the beef tongue, which should be a delicacy, was, literally, not edible, having failed to successfully chew and break down any of it, and salmon teriyaki that was dry. My husband ordered the sushi, which was okay at best, lacking in freshness that I expected, being in Hawaii. Don't be fooled by the extensive menu; food's awful.
